A thirteen day cruise through Spain and Portugal will introduce you to the finest sights these countries have to offer, while taking you along the same routes as the first Spanish and Portuguese explorers. You’ll see the countless historic monuments that entrance the visitors of Lisbon, such as the Coach Museum or Maritime Museum. From the palace of Sintra to the fishing village known as Cascais, you’ll never be bored. You can tour gothic city of Seville, see monkeys in Gibraltar, and explore Pablo Picasso’s birthplace of Malaga. The iconic Alhambra Palace is within reach as well, and you can explore it during your day ashore in Granada. Afterwards, you can enjoy the island of Palma de Mallorca’s historic castle, and cap off your journey in the beautiful city of Barcelona, which hosts the massive cathedral known as La Sagrada Familia. Day 1 :Lisbon

Welcome aboard! You’ve arrived in Lisbon, and that means this is the beginning of your Spain/Portugal cruise. You’ll be given transport from the airport to the InterContinental Lisbon. There, you’ll do a meet and greet and eat a scrumptious dinner before resting up.

Day 2 :Lisbon

Lisbon You’ll tour the beautiful city of Lisbon with a guide this morning. The ancient city gives off 18th century vibes, and it’s clear to see- from Edward VII Park to Mosteiro Dos Jeronimos-both of which you’ll be visiting. You’ll also go even farther back in time, and see Belém Tower, built in the 16th century as a fortress. Amble back to your hotel casually afterwards.

Day 3 :Sintra & Cascais

Visit the Sintra National Palace, which hosted the royalty of Portugal as far back as the 15th century. Now it is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, drive down to Cascais, a seaside village with some beautiful beaches. FInally, it’s time for you to get on your Windstar Yacht and truly begin your cruise. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner on board.

Day 4 :Sea

You’ll spend today at sea, which means you’ll truly get to relax. Enjoy the Wind Surf, the largest sailing yacht in the world. You can experience everything that gives this ship it’s fame and glory as you travel towards Cadíz, Spain.

Day 5 :Seville

In Seville, visit Maria Luisa Park, site of the 1929 World Fair; Palacio de San Telmo, once a university for seafarers; the Moorish Torre Del Oro; along with the bullring and tobacco factory. And who could visit Seville without seeing the tomb of Christopher Columbus in the Cathedral and the Royal Alcazar Palaces? Finally, you’ll watch a flamenco dance and board the ship.

Day 6 :Gibraltar

The massive Rock Of Gibraltar juts out of the sea, providing a gateway to the Mediterranean. There, you’ll see many historical and mythological wonders. One of these sites is the Two Pillars of Hercules, where Hercules supposedly created a bridge. Tour the city which was once known as Calpe by the Phoenicians, and visit every location “The Rock” has to offer.

Day 7 :Malaga

Enjoy seeing horses and sipping sherry in the gorgeous city of Malaga. You can taste tapas in a typical Andalucian manor, as well as visit the Gibralfaro Castle. You’ll also tour Plaza Merced, where Picasso was born, as well as seeing the ruins of a 8th century Moorish Castle. You could also visit the Picasso Museum, to learn about the famous painter’s life.

Day 8 :Granada

You will take a leisurely ride up to the Alhambra Palace, a glorious example of Moorish architecture. You can also view the Generalife Gardens that surround the palace. After exploring the pair, you’ll eat lunch at the Alhambra Palace Hotel. Bask in the beauty of the Moorish paradise before you return to the ship late in the afternoon to eat dinner and set sail.

Day 9 :Sea

Another day at sea! After you leave Cartagena, continue to relax on board the Wind Surf while enjoying every amenity that will be offered. You can listen to a lecture about the region, visit the spa, or just chill on the deck.

Day 10 :Palma De Mallorca

Enter Palma in the morning for a tour of the city. You’ll see the Bellver Castle, built in the Gothic style, and La Seu, decorated with gilded limestone. This entrancing building is said to be one of the most beautiful in Spain. Afterwards, you can drive to Valldemossa, a hilltop village that once was home to Frédéric Chopin and George Sand. Finally, eat happily on the ship.

Day 11 :Barcelona

Visit the unconventionally beautiful city of Barcelona in Catalonia. You’ll see La Sagrada Familia, a cathedral that truly cannot be described in words. After, see another Gaudí masterpiece: Parc Güell, a warped glass-and-mosaic masterpiece, which changes the definition of a park. End with a culinary tour of a neighborhood in the city filled with lots of ethnic delight.

Day 12 :Barcelona

Still in Barcelona, you’ll privately visit Palau de la Música Catalana, a breathtaking concert hall lit only by natural light. If the intricate tile patterns don’t amaze you, the stained glass certainly will. After that, you can decide between visiting Barri Gotic, the medieval center of the city, or a Passeig de Gracia walking tour. End with a visit to the place where the 1992 Olympics were held.

Day 13 :Barcelona

After a wondrous cruise, you can finally head home. Transfer to the airport will be provided, and you can watch Barcelona drift away behind you as you travel home. Travel again soon!
