Begin this 8 day journey in Cradle Mountain where you’ll traipse through the temperate rainforests before heading to Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay where you can relax at one of the 10 best beaches in the world. Then, you’ll take a day on Tasman Peninsula where you can visit sea cliffs and explore sea caves and all that exotic beauty that it entails. During the trip, you will have the exciting chance to choose between going rock climbing or sea kayaking. Get ready to be active and go home with some of the most amazing memories you could make exploring. Tasmania is a beautiful island that has so much natural beauty to offer you and your camera.

Weather, Seasons and Climate

The northern section of the continent is typically more tropical- hot and humid in the summer, and warm and dry in the winter. The southern part touts milder summers, but cool, rainy winters.

Day 1 :Launceston - Cradle Mountain (2.5 hour self-drive)

Make your way to Cradle Mountain today via the Bass Highway, and stop at attractions like Pearn’s Steam World in Westbury and the Ashgrove Cheese Shop. The journey will take around 2.5 hours.

Day 2 :Tasmania (3 hour self-guided tour)

Enjoy the beautiful island state at your leisure today. Head to Knyvet Falls and over to the Pencil Pine River before journeying through the temperate rainforests. Continue your walk down to Dove River, Cradle Valley, and Cradle Mountain. Be sure to pack plenty of water!

Day 3 :Cradle Mountain - Freycinet National Park (5.5 hour self-drive)

Leave Cradle Mountain today for Westbury, Longford, and Campbell Town. Be sure to stop by the historic town of Evandale, and stop for lunch at the Mount Elephant Pancakes Restaurant. You’ll be glad you did!

Day 4 :Freycinet National Park (2 hour tour, self-drive)

Visit Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay- one of the top ten beaches in the world. A 2 hour walk will take you from the village to the scenic Wineglass Bay Lookout for beautiful views of the coast. In the evening, drive to Bicheno, just 40 minutes north of the national park, to marvel at the adorable little penguins as they make their way to their burrows.

Day 5 :Freycinet National Park (Self-guided kayaking)

Enjoy a day of sea kayaking on Great Oyster Bay today- or, for the equally adventurous, opt for a rock climbing adventure instead. Experienced sea kayakers may be able to paddle to Schouten Island within the day.

Day 6 :Freycinet National Park- Hobart (Self-drive, 3 hour tour)

Follow the Tasman Highway to Hobart today. On your way, stop at Swansea- a small seaside town with wonderful views. Learn about Tasmania’s rich history in the Hobart Town Historical Model Village, or drive through Sorell- the island’s oldest farming town.

Day 7 :Hobart (Full Day Cruise and Tour)

Depart the city for a day on the Tasman Peninsula. Your adventure includes a guided bus tour, a three hour cruise, a visit to the Port Arthur Historic Site, morning tea, and lunch. Marvel at Australia’s highest sea cliffs, trek through deep sea caves, and search for exotic aquatic species’!

Day 8 :Hobart (Airport flight home)

Enjoy a private transfer from your hotel to the Hobart airport for your flight home. Bon Voyage!
