Enjoy seeing the “must-sees” and the hidden gems of two amazing cities while embracing spring.

On this two-week trip, you will enjoy the best of these iconic cities with a private guide such as Anne Frank’s house in Amsterdam and the Palace of Versailles just outside of Paris with plenty of time to explore all options. Next, you will board your comfortable riverboat for a delightful sail through the waterways of the Netherlands and Belgium.

The dates offered coincide with the very best timing to see the vibrant tulip fields in all of their glory and a visit to world-famous Keukenhof gardens and small towns across the region you will be able to fully appreciate their splendor. This trip is a must for lovers of all things floral.

Weather, Season & Climate

Western Europe has distinct seasons with summer being the warmest, and driest, but also the busiest with travelers. You can expect highs in the mid-80’s and sometimes muggy conditions in the cities. Winter travel can see snow and frost, especially in the North, but rarely with any great accumulation. Plan to bring a weather coat, gloves and boots for average highs in the mid-50’s to low-60’s. Spring and fall bring the best weather overall with mostly mild temperatures and clear skies with spring offering breathtaking blooms.

Day 1 :Paris

Welcome to Paris! Your private chauffeur will pick you up from the airport and safely transport you to your hotel. These knowledgeable drivers will acquaint you with the city and pass on your welcome packet which contains maps and other valuable tourist information. If you have not opted for this private transfer service, you will find your welcome packet at the hotel.

Day 2 :Paris: Full-day tour

Begin your day with a private walking tour of the famous St. Germain des Pres neighborhood, including a tour of spectacular Notre Dame. This evening experience Paris in spectacular fashion aboard one of the Bateaux Parisiens dinner cruises. Over the course of 2.5 hours, you will savor traditional cuisine in an elegant setting with the backdrop of the "city of lights" all around you. Unforgettable!

Day 3 :Paris: Full-day tour

Another unforgettable day as you visit the Palace of Versailles on a private tour. This magnificent palace has housed French royalty since 1682 and offers extraordinary gardens. After being dazzled by some of the rooms there is plenty of free time to further explore. Upon returning to Paris you will continue marvelous views from Restaurant 58 on the Eiffel Tower with a delicious 4-course menu.

Day 4 :Paris- Amsterdam (3.5 hours travel time)

Say farewell to Paris for an exciting 3.5- hour journey to Amsterdam via a high-speed train. A knowledgeable local associate will greet you with a welcome package upon arrival which includes a city map and additional tourist information. After coordinating where to meet your private chauffeur they will also accompany you to your comfortable hotel with time to explore on your own.

Day 5 :Amsterdam: Full-day tour

Good morning Amsterdam! Your private guide will lead you on a fascinating tour of the canals, 17th & 18th-century mansions, and colorful markets that make up this beautiful city. See the Royal Palace on Dam square and admire historic buildings along the river. This evening enjoy a shared candlelit cruise through the old city featuring a welcome champagne and 3-course dinner with after-dinner drinks.

Day 6 :Amsterdam: Half-day tour

A unique travel day today as you step back in time to visit Zaanse Schans, a delightful hamlet that still offers traditional green wooden houses, arched bridges, and charming shops. This lovely town is a look back at life in the 17th & 18th-centuries when it was a typical tradesmen's working town. If you wish to linger your guide can arrange additional options.

Day 7 :Amsterdam: Half-day tour

Another day looking back into history as you visit the Anne Frank house. You will be astonished anew by this brave girl as you see where she lived and hid with her family. After leaving that sobering museum meet your guide for a private tour of the Van Gogh Museum featuring more than 700 paintings and drawings of this famous artist and his contemporaries.

Day 8 :Amsterdam – River Cruise

Transfer to your luxury river cruise ship and check into your stateroom. This evening enjoy a welcome reception and dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 9 :Horn – River Cruise: Full-day tour

Cruise along Holland's Ijsselmeer River towards Hoorn. Along the way, you will have options. Perhaps visiting a family-run tulip farm is at the top of your list. A second option is a tour of Hoorn where you can tour a replica of a Dutch East India Company ship. For the more active option perhaps enjoy a guided bike trip past windmills and through tulip fields.

Day 10 :Zeeland – River Cruise: Full-day tour

Cruise through the picturesque Delta you have options to do a walking or biking tour of Middleburg. These winding cobblestoned streets and historic harbor were nearly destroyed in WWII. Alternatively, you can choose to visit the imposing Delta Works which features steal doors that are 147 feet wide and offers an impressive series of dams and hydraulic engineering. During dinner sail towards Belgium!

Day 11 :Antwerp - River Cruise: Full-day tour

Begin your day with a walking or biking tour of Antwerp. See the castle and admire the city's architecture and markets. An alternative option is to visit Rubens House, the former home studio of the famous 17th-century Flemish Baroque painter. Both choices should include sampling Belgium’s extraordinary chocolate and waffles or a visit to Floralia, an annual spring flower show. This evening sail for Ghent.

Day 12 :Ghent – River Cruise: Full-day tour

Two exciting options today! You can choose to explore Ghent and do a walking tour to see Belfry Hall, Kornlei, the Graslei and the Castle of the Counts or do a chocolate tasting of exquisite Belgian chocolates. Another option is a full-day excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bruges to visit this stunning town filled with winding canals, waffles and historic buildings.

Day 13 :Rotterdam – River Cruise: Full-day tour

Discover Rotterdam today. Option one visits The Hague and Delft, known for its historic center and blue-painted pottery. Alternatively, visit Delta Works and see the impressive dams and hydraulic engineering. A third choice is a breezy bike ride through the countryside. This afternoon visits the UNESCO site of Kinderdijk, a village renowned for its abundance of 18th-century windmills. This evening enjoy free time in Schoonhoven.

Day 14 :Amsterdam – River Cruise: Full-day tour

Today admire the stunning display of flowering blooms at Keukenhof Gardens. In the afternoon you can enjoy a cruise along the historic canals and harbor of Amsterdam. Another option is to return to the delightful village of Zaanse Schans to explore more of this Dutch gem or possibly spend your final time on a walking tour in the upscale Jordaan district of Amsterdam.

Day 15 :Amsterdam – Return home

After breakfast disembark your ship and head to the airport or next destination. Revel in the memories of an exceptional two weeks exploring this lesser-known region of Europe.
