Visit the Aalsmeer Flower Auction, the stunning gardens at Keukenhof, the university city of Leiden, and the weekly cheese market at Alkmaar, all while being constantly surrounded by the stunning flowers on display.

Weather, Season & Climate

Western Europe has distinct seasons with summer being the warmest, and driest, but also the busiest with travelers and winter bringing cold across the continent.

Spring and fall bring the best weather overall with mostly mild temperatures and clear skies and spring is the optimal time for viewing the spectacular gardens of the Netherlands.

Day 1 :Amsterdam: Half-day tour

Welcome to Amsterdam! Your private chauffeur will pick you up from the airport and safely transport you to your hotel. Your driver will deliver you to your hotel and pass on your welcome packet of maps and other tourist information. Your guide will then take you on a walking and canal tour of some of the most stunning and colorful areas of the city.

Day 2 :Amsterdam: Full-day tour

Head to the Aalsmeer Flower Auction, the largest in the world, to experience for yourself the hustle and bustle of auction day. You will be amazed by the thousands of varieties of blooms available. Next, travel to the stunning Keukenhof Gardens and stand in awe at the display of tulips along with dozens of other colorful blooms as you learn a bit about the planning.

Day 3 :Amsterdam: Half-day tour

Enjoy a morning at leisure before joining a historian or garden designer for a behind-the-scenes visit to some of the city's most beautiful private gardens. The canal-side homes are impressive on their own, but the oasis of beauty behind the gates is something to behold, all with manicured lawns, stunning landscapes, and architectural features. A true highlight of a visit to the city!

Day 4 :Amsterdam: Full-day tour

Begin your day traveling to Leiden, home to the Netherland's oldest university and Rembrandt's birthplace. Admire the stunning architecture and canals including the 16th-century city hall. Next visit Hortus Botanicus, a tranquil spot to admire over 6000 indigenous and non-native plants and trees. Stroll the gardens before visiting the "hothouse" which is home to hundreds of butterflies. Entrance to Hortus Botanicus is included.

Day 5 :Amsterdam: Full-day tour

A full day today as you enjoy the spectacle of the Alkmaar traditional cheese market where wheels of Gouda are sold each day. Visit the factory before taking in a Tulip Excursion to Slootdorp and enjoy an explosion of color while learning about their production. A fitting end to the day is to experience the gorgeous views along the 32-kilometer embankment at Afsluitdijk.

Day 6 :Amsterdam- return home

Say goodbye to Amsterdam as you return home your mind overwhelmed with the memories of spectacular beauty.
