You’ll get to enjoy the best of Croatia on this seven day trip, the historical Castles, ancient city walls, UNESCO protected Diocletian’s Palace, and the natural sights of Plitvice Lakes with the added benefit of Christmas wonder. As you travel through Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik, you’ll get to try traditional specialty foods like Strukli, get a taste of mulled wine, and spend some time skating at Stradurn. The Christmas spirit truly encompasses this country and you’ll be able to experience it in the best way as you spend some time at their parks and squares complete with Christmas decorations and listen to open air Christmas concerts. This will be one Christmas you’ll want to relive for years to come.

Weather and Climate

Croatia is divided into two distinct climate regions – Mediterranean and continental. The predominant continental region sees hot summers and cold winters with temperatures between 0 and 2 degrees Celsius in the winter and approximately 22 degrees Celsius in the summer. The Mediterranean region sees mild winters and dry summers along the coast with mean temperatures between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius in the summer and 2 and 9 degrees Celsius in the winter.

Day 1 :Zagreb

Welcome to Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. You will be greeted by your private airport transfer who will take you to your hotel and provide you with your welcome package documents.

Day 2 :Zagreb - 3 hour walking tour of Christmas Markets

Today, you’ll begin your journey in Zagreb at Tomislav Square and its open air ice rink for something morning fun before you continue to Zrinjevac Park to see centuries old trees beautifully lit up with shimmering blue lights. Then, you’ll make your way to Ban Jelacic Square for mulled wine and sausages, concerts, and children’s performances. You’ll also visit the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Mark’s Church, and the Croatian National Theatre.

Day 3 :Zagreb - 6 hour tour of Winter Hinterland Castles

Go on a private tour of Hrvatsko Zagorje, you’ll get to see a view that looks like it came straight out of a fairytale as you drive through the snow covered slopes to Trakoscan Castle. This is a 13th century stronghold with walls decorated with Renaissance and Baroque art pieces. After, you’ll visit a family run tavern for some traditional dishes. During the night, you will have free time to explore and relax as you please.

Day 4 :Zagreb - Split (4 hours)

Today will be a relaxing day, you’ll be transferred from Zagreb to Split by private car. When you arrive, you are free to explore your new surroundings. Just be sure to get a good night’s sleep.

Day 5 :Split - Dubrovnik (3.5 hours) - 3 Hour Walking Tour

Today, you will visit the 1700 year old town of Split which is home to Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built back in 293 AD as a final resting place of Roman emperor Diocletian, this palace holds an enormous amount if history which you will be able to explore. Then, you’ll visit the Cathedral of St. Domnius and the waterfront promenade of Split, which is an exuberant open green market. Then, you’ll go on a transfer to Dubrovnik.

Day 6 :Dubrovnik - 3 hour walking tour

On a private tour of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll see the Franciscan monastery of the “Order of Friars Minor”, Church of St. Blasius, Rector’s Palace, and Cathedral of the Virgin Mary. Then at night, you are free to explore the street side cafes, boutiques, and its city walls or go to Stradurn for a play, live music, and skating.

Day 7 :Dubrovnik

Enjoy your last day in Dubrovnik and embrace the Christmas spirit in the air. Your private transfer will be waiting to take you to Dubrovnik Airport for your flight out.
