Weather, Seasons, & Climate

The best time to visit Argentina is from April-June (fall) or from September-December (spring). These sweet shoulder seasons usher in mild temperatures, thin crowds, and colorful foliage. January and February remain a popular time to visit, temperatures often rise into the 90s and a muggy heat hangs in the air. The off-season starts in June and ends in August and is usually filled with rainy days, cold winter temps, and few tourists.

The Perito Moreno Glacier has a dry climate and temperatures range from a low of 28F in winter to highs in the mid-60’s in the summer. Out on the glacier the wind can reduce these temperatures considerably so dress warmly.

In general, the spring and summer seasons in Mendoza (Oct-Mar) are characterized by long days when weather is warm and dry. The peak tourist season and summer vacation for locals runs December-February. Spring and fall are the overall most desirable seasons to travel.

At Iguazu Falls the spring and fall are often considered the best mix of weather.

Day 1 :Arrive Buenos Aires

Welcome to Argentina! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your representative who will accompany you to your hotel to check-in. An early check-in has been arranged after your long flight

Day 2 :Buenos Aires (Half day / evening tango show)

The architecture of Buenos Aires is nearly unrivaled. Your guide will take you for a glimpse into the rich history that created this stunning city. Stop at the iconic San Telmo and La Boca neighborhoods and look for famous names at the Recoleta Cemetery. This evening your car will pick you up for the 830pm dinner show that represents the true intensity of the tango!

Day 3 :Buenos Aires (Half day)

For a fascinating way to explore the city head out on a guided bike tour of some of the more entertaining parts of the city. Learn about the history of Buenos Aires while experiencing the bustling neighborhoods. During a day at leisure, there are numerous options to explore. Perhaps a riverboat ride along the Tigre to view the elegant mansions from the water?

Day 4 :Buenos Aires (Free day / car service to dinner)

A free day at leisure to explore on your own before an evening to remember! Argentina is world-famous for its barbeques and fine wine and tonight roundtrip car service will deliver you to your choice of restaurants. Reservations are required, and our experts recommend Getui, Aramburu, Chila, Oviedo or Casa Cavia. Please note your meal is not included and must be paid on location.

Day 5 :Buenos Aires – El Calafate (3 hours 15-minute flight at your own expense)

Enjoy a private car and driver to bring you to the airport for your short flight to the magnificent El Calafate. Upon arrival you will be taken to your hotel to check-in.

Day 6 :El Calafate (Full day)

An awe-inspiring day experiencing Argentina's glacier country. Perito Moreno Glacier is part of the world's third largest freshwater reserves and you will be amazed by the diversity of wildlife and floral splendor found against this dramatic icy landscape. The glaciers and water represent many shades of blue and the visitors center has a walking circuit for an alternate view on this guided day outdoors.

Day 7 :El Calafate – Mendoza (Full day flying El Calafate – Buenos Aires- Mendoza flight at your own expense)

Enjoy a private car and driver to bring you to the airport for your flight to Mendoza with a connection in Buenos Aires. Upon arrival you will be taken to your hotel to check-in.

Day 8 :Mendoza (Full day)

An exclusive wine day at two important wineries; Andeluna & Bodega Salentein. These stunning wineries are world-renowned for their delicious wines and beautiful bodegas and wineries. Get an insider’s glimpse into the winemaking process from grape to bottle and learn how the winemakers allow the grapes to fully express themselves. Included lunch at one of the wineries of your choice.

Day 9 :Mendoza (Half day)

A wonderful day out in the vineyards exploring yet another vineyard. Learn how the Zuccardi family has been producing prestigious wine for decades. Enjoy a walk with the winemaker through the farm's fields and irrigation systems as you learn about the culture of wine and the winemaking process. After your tour enjoy a delicious lunch in their home before returning to your hotel.

Day 10 :Mendoza – Iguazu Falls (2-hour 30minute flight at your own expense)

Enjoy a private car and driver to bring you to the airport for your flight to Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival you will be taken to your hotel to check-in where you can enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

Day 11 :Iguazu Falls (Half day)

Your guide will show you the Argentinian side of the falls as you marvel at the spectacular Devil's Throat. Enjoy elevated walkways for the best views. After free time at your hotel experience, an amazing boat ride over rapids through Iguassu River Canyon and feel the power. Make sure to take a change of clothes and bring a raincoat for this exciting wet activity.

Day 12 :Iguazu Falls – Buenos Aires – Return home (2-hour flight at your own expense)

Enjoy a private car and driver to bring you to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires and then to the International airport for your return flight home.

Notes :

All visitors to Iguazu Falls are required to pay an eco-tax to help maintain the preservation of the region. This cannot be paid in advance and will be collected, in cash, at your Iguazu Falls hotel upon check-in. The fee of $20ARS (Argentinian peso) must be paid in Argentinian pesos.

Easy going neighborhood cantinas are one of the delights of the city. Try the 100-year-old El Globo for their signature dish puchero (stewdish) which comes on two different trays; one with different cuts of meat and one with assorted steamed vegetables among others.

For a truly memorable experience head to dinner at Maria Antonieta. It is simply a beautiful of Italian, Mediterranean and Argentine delicacies prepared with real skill in a lovely setting. Expensive but worth the splurge.

Mercado Central

For the exact opposite, but equally tasty, version of fine dining head to Mercado Central, the central market. Here multiple food stalls and booths tempt your taste buds with really excellent local delicacies such as empanadas, sandwiches, and pizza.
