Just in between these two cultural superstars is the natural splendor of Iguazu Falls, one of the most dramatic waterfalls in the world.

Buenos Aires welcomes you with open arms and a melting pot of culture. Wide boulevards are reminiscent of Paris while the colonial details of the majestic Teatro Colon and world-renowned Recoleta Cemetery draw crowds from around the world. The haunting notes of tango will never leave you.

From Buenos Aires the scene shifts to the earth-shaking thunder of hundreds of waterfalls at magnificent Iguazu Falls. Enjoy a private tour by boat and a guided walk to experience the falls before heading to Rio.

Here you will discover colonial avenues, bustling markets and a strong Portuguese legacy in architecture and food. Enjoy a private helicopter tour of Sugar Loaf Mountain, dine at a luxurious beachside restaurant and relax on the golden sand of Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.

Weather, Seasons & Climate:

The best time to visit Buenos Aires is from April-June (fall) or from September-December (spring). These sweet shoulder seasons usher in mild temperatures, thin crowds, and colorful foliage. January and February remain a popular time to visit, temperatures often rise into the 90s and a muggy heat hangs in the air. The off-season starts in June and ends in August and is usually filled with rainy days, cold winter temps, and few tourists.

Brazil is a tropical country with seasons that follow the opposite of the northern hemisphere; cooler weather is typically found during the winter months of May-September and warmer weather from December-March. However, there are 5 distinct climatic regions ranging from equatorial to subtropical.

In Rio and the at Iguassu Falls the spring and fall are often considered the best mix of weather.

Day 1 :Arrive Buenos Aires

Welcome to Argentina! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your representative who will accompany you to your hotel to check-in. An early check-in has been arranged after your long flight.

Day 2 :Buenos Aires (Full day)

The architecture of Buenos Aires is nearly unrivaled. Your guide will take you for a glimpse into the rich history that created the neoclassical metropolitan Cathedral, the roots of Monumentalism, and the renovation project at Puerto Madero. Enjoy a guided tour of the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires iconic opera house, and continue to Recoleta Cemetery to view the grandiose tombs of the rich and famous.

Day 3 :Buenos Aires (Day at leisure / evening Tango show)

During a day at leisure, there are numerous options to explore. Perhaps a riverboat ride along the Tigre to view the elegant mansions from the water? Maybe experience traditional Argentinian BBQ or even head to Uruguay to visit Colonia del Sacramento? In the evening your car will pick you up for the 830pm dinner show that represents the true intensity of the tango!

Day 4 :Buenos Aires – Iguazu Falls (1 hour 45 minute flight at your own expense)

Enjoy a private car and driver to bring you to the airport for your short flight to the magnificent Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival you will be taken to your hotel to check-in.

Day 5 :Iguazu Falls (Half day)

Your guide will show you the Argentinian side of the falls as you marvel at the spectacular Devil's Throat. Enjoy elevated walkways for the best views. After free time at your hotel experience, an amazing boat ride over rapids through Iguassu River Canyon and feel the power. Make sure to take a change of clothes and bring a raincoat for this exciting wet activity.

Day 6 : Iguazu Falls – Rio de Janeiro (Full day – 1 ½ hour flight at your own expense)

Visit the Brazilian side of the falls, remembering your passport and visa as you cross borders. The falls sit in the distance on this side allowing for stunning panoramic photos. Stroll the walkways along the edge of the falls and gaze down at a marvel of nature. A short flight brings you to Rio de Janeiro where you will be transported to your hotel.

Day 7 :Rio de Janeiro (Half day)

Begin today learning about the important historical and political events that made Rio one of the world's most exciting cities. You will see the French influence in much of the architecture along with the strong influence when Brazil was a Portuguese colony. See Monasteries, art museums and cultural centers before round-trip car service tonight to the restaurant of your choice (dinner not included).

Day 8 :Rio de Janeiro (Morning helicopter ride and evening show )

Head to the sky for a panoramic view of Rio from the air on a short helicopter tour. Enjoy the sweeping views of the city and beaches below you before an afternoon of leisure. Later enjoy an evening to Rio Scenarium. This bohemian show house is a favorite for locals and tourists alike and is an unforgettable evening of traditional Brazilian music.

Day 9 :Rio de Janeiro – home

This morning is yours to lounge on the famous beaches, enjoy a café, or laze with a good book. Late check-out is prearranged so you can relax on your final day in Rio before your evening flight home.

Notes :

All visitors to Iguazu Falls are required to pay an eco-tax to help maintain the preservation of the region. This cannot be paid in advance and will be collected, in cash, at your Iguazu Falls hotel upon check-in. The fee of $20ARS (Argentinian peso) must be paid in Argentinian pesos.

You must have at least six months of remaining validity on your passport to be allowed entry into Brazil. In addition, your Brazilian visa must be issued within 90-days of your visit.

El Globo

Easy going neighborhood cantinas are one of the delights of the city. Try the 100-year-old El Globo for their signature dish puchero (stewdish) which comes on two different trays; one with different cuts of meat and one with assorted steamed vegetables among others.
